The two Nicks (Ryan and Crampton) are currently in France and on their way to the Hospices de Beaune barrel tasting… its tough for them, but someone had to do the hard yards for Eutopia. It was no surprise when they both volunteered.

Ryan always does something stupid in photographs

The trip is going well, although the Hospice de Beaune was not what i expected. The 09v looks great as expected however it certainly stuck home that you really need to buy into the Hospice de Beaune style for it to be anything but a novelty. Whilst the oak has been toned down i still thought we saw a lot better wines elsewhere – awesome tradition though and Beaune certainly was pumping
